Description

Cabinet grade maple veneer, is typically a creamy white to a pink tinged light yellow wood that ages to a deep pale gold color. It’s available only in 4′ x 8′ as FlexVen™ 10 paper backed veneer sheets.

It is usually, but not always, book matched with the grain running along the 8’ dimension. Cabinet grade maple wood veneer is a lower B grade and typically has defects such as pin knots, vine marks and worm tracks. This grade of maple veneer is usually used in areas of less visibility where wood veneer is still needed. Ideal situations are cabinet interiors, backs of doors, shelving and many others. Maple is a hardwood that is dense, relatively easy to work with and strong. It has a smooth texture and tight uniform grain. Another common grain characteristic with this type of grade is its irregular grain pattern. Maple wood veneer will accept stains and finishes well but is most often finished with a clear coat that preserves the warmth and accentuates the color and beauty of the wood’s natural grain.
